Hello and Welcome to Tips for Happy Tails! I hope you find valuable information here to care for your beloved animal friends. We also have breed-specific information on some of the more common pets people are choosing these days.
One of the things we think is most important here at Tips for Happy Tails is the quality of relationship between pets and their people. Certain breeds will work better for some and not so much for others. It really depends upon lifestyle, living conditions, energy levels and time availability.
For instance, choosing a dog that requires constant companionship, such as a Teacup Chihuahua wouldn’t be the best choice for someone who works long hours away from home. But rather for someone who is home most of the time. This could be an elderly person needing companionship or someone who works from home and can have a small dog next to their desk. One of our goals is to help people match the best choice for both the pet and its potential people.
Secondly, and certainly no less important is the quality of care we give to our pets once we become their official caregivers. I started becoming an animal caregiver at the age of 6. While growing up all my friends in the neighborhood were dogs and cats. And I can still remember most of their names; Joshua, Freidel, Jake, Pepper, Rita, Roger, and Fonzy just to name literally only a few.
These dogs were not only my friends but they taught me the meaning of Love ~ pure, unconditional Love. They were my companions, healers, and teachers and the animals remain so to this day.
I did grow up to achieve my dream of working in the veterinary world. But being on my own journey to health and well being, I immersed myself in the natural, holistic world and found some incredible tools to help our furred, four-legged beings. In 2002 I started working with pets and animals holistically and went on a few years later to start my own holistic animal practice ~ and needless to say I never turned back.

For instance, feeding your pet appropriately for its species, also called a specie-specific diet is absolutely foundational and will save you literally thousands of dollars in vet bills over the years. Keeping your pet’s immune system strong and giving them the proper nutritional supports for the time we live in is really like taking out an insurance policy.
Not only is proper nutrition essential but there are many methods to use to help our animals such as bodywork to help recover from injuries; flower essences to quell separation anxiety and integrating new members into the family.
